Lunch

Reality check on my home business - just had my lunch boil over onto the stove. I had to take a pause to clean-up. So to a pause and visit www.bogielane.com. I am featuring Bird's mouth bowls and candlesticks made by my father.
Sunday, went to see the Nutcracker Ballet in Macon, Georgia. I had never seen the ballet, but always knew the music. The symphonic ballet was composed in the 1890's, by Peter (Pyotr) Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Like Handel's Messiah, the Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71 has been performed during the Christmas Season. The kids loved it, especially Act II with the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. This portion of the music features the celesta, which is very memorable. It was great. The occasion was a gathering of family and friends. Warm Christmas greetings to everyone.

Happy Holidays - It is the season of transition - out with the old and in with the new. Television, in general, is disappointing, radio not far behind. And newspapers will be a thing of the past soon. The stuff of surf is the web. In a sea of blogs and twits, I post my treks and thoughts. I send Greeting Cards, or maybe just an email. You know, there are somethings that are old, that are good. Sending a handwritten note, have lunch with a friend and getting together for the holidays with family. Simply warm traditions that should never pass by for the new, fast and vast Internet. But, the Internet is what we make it. A good place to talk, to share, to learn. I hope that your Season of Greetings is warm and wonderful. Stay safe.
